Thymalin
Thymic Extract · Тималин
Thymalin is the pharmaceutical thymus polypeptide extract - Cytamin-era injectable used in CIS practice. It is not Vilon, not Thymogen, not thymosin alpha-1, and not a single CAS-numbered tetrapeptide.

How it works
Thymalin is a thymic bioregulator peptide developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It consists of a standardized extract from the thymus gland containing small regulatory peptides (molecular weight <10 kDa).
Thymalin restores thymic function in aging immune systems by promoting T-cell differentiation, maturation, and activation. The thymus involutes significantly after puberty - by age 60, most thymic tissue has been replaced by fat. Thymalin works by restoring thymic peptide signaling, rebooting T-cell production. A Khavinson-group elderly follow-up of thymic extract plus epithalamin/epitalon is the paper people mean when they say 12-year mortality. That is a concentrated Russian series, not a US mortality indication, and it is not a license to treat immunodeficiency from this page.

Manufacturer-style organ combinations - not FDA protocols. Every name is a live leaf.
The Khavinson school
Thymalin is filed here as pharmaceutical extract (cytamin-era), targeting the thymus. Khavinson's St. Petersburg group moved from organ extracts (Cytamins) to capsule complexes (Cytomaxes) to synthetic short peptides (Cytogens); most of the evidence comes from that one group, with little independent Western replication.

History of this molecule
This is the immune extract that actually behaved like a hospital product: ampoules, courses, geriatric and infectious-disease use in Russian-language literature. Vladonix is the later oral Cytomax complex from the same organ. The cytogens are the defined motifs.
English blogs credit Thymalin+Epitalon combinations with mortality reduction in elderly cohorts. Read the papers for which preparation, which dose, which control. Do not sell that as a US indication.
TA-1 (Zadaxin) is a 28-mer with a separate development path. TB-500 is a thymosin-β4 fragment. Neither is Thymalin.
Caveats
Mixture product: lot fingerprint, animal source, no single sequence. Autoimmune caution. Not TA-1.

Goal context
Thymic extract, not Tα1
Thymalin is the extract-era product in the Thymus line, not a Cytomax capsule and not thymosin alpha-1. Russian clinic history is real. A 50% mortality slogan is not a US label.
Often paired with Epitalon in school folklore
Different organs and different materials: thymic extract vs pineal tetrapeptide. School combination follow-ups exist. That is not an FDA mortality claim.
Research Use Cases
- ✓Thymic extract identity vs Vilon vs Vladonix vs thymosin alpha-1
- ✓Not a post-cancer immune restoration or infection protocol
- ✓Not a US mortality-reduction drug
Dosing
| Phase | Dose | Frequency | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Khavinson Protocol | 10 mg | Daily IM or SC for 10 consecutive days | Standard Khavinson immune reconstitution protocol. Repeat 1-2 times per year. Often paired with Epitalon cycles. |
Administration
Thymalin: CIS IM extract vs Not Vladonix / not KE
- Clinic-era registered presentation in CIS practice. Real hospital object, not a blog tetrapeptide.
- Mixture by design (Cytamin-era). That is the point of the extract layer.
- Food does not change an IM shot.
- Not Vilon (KE), not Thymogen (EW), not Crystagen (EDP), not Thymulin (FTS), not TA-1 (Zadaxin), not TB-500.
- Lot fingerprint, animal source, no single CAS. Autoimmune caution.
- Do not paste a 5 mg BAC chart from a cytogen vial onto this ampoule.
- The map has an oral thymus product (Vladonix). Use that leaf for capsules.
- Keeps extract identity from collapsing into KE milligrams.
- Not a sublingual tablet. Nobody manufactures this SKU that way.
- English catalogs flatten Thymalin / Vilon / Vladonix into one “thymus peptide.”
- Combination longevity follow-ups that blogs call “Thymalin+Epitalon” must be read for which preparation was injected.
- Not a sublingual immune melt.

Safety & Considerations
Used in Russian and CIS clinic programs for decades. That history is not a US safety NDA. IM or SubQ. "No significant adverse events" is that literature, not a Western Phase 3 file.
Regulatory & Legal Status
Approved in Russia as Tactivin®; not FDA-approved
Not currently on the WADA 2026 Prohibited List. Policies may change - verify before competition.

Limits of current evidence
- Extract ≠ synthetic cytogen ≠ Cytomax capsule.
- Longitudinal Khavinson combination data is not an FDA mortality claim.
- This site will not treat the named organ disease from a peptide page.
Human evidence
Moderate · Khavinson-school extract (not a US NDA)
- Extract ≠ synthetic cytogen ≠ Cytomax capsule.
- Longitudinal Khavinson combination data is not an FDA mortality claim.
Verdict
Thymalin is the extract-era product in the Thymus line, not a Cytomax capsule and not a one-letter cytogen. Russian clinic history is real. A 50% mortality slogan is not a US label.
Interactions & Contraindications
Immunosuppressants and transplant belong with a prescriber. Annual 10-day cycles are the school’s language, not an FDA duration.
Synergies & Common Stacks
School combination follow-ups exist. They are not a 12-year 50% mortality NDA on this extract.
Extract vs defined 28-mer. Same organ story, different material.
Appears in goal guides
Goal guides are maps, not clinic protocols. A mention here is not a treatment plan.
Immune Resilience & Post-Viral Stack
Thymosin α1 and Thymalin identity. Zadaxin is not a US NDA. This is not a viral-pathogenesis or thymic-regeneration treatment page.
Cellular Redox & DNA Integrity
Khavinson-style 10-day intensive: Epitalon, Thymalin (injectable), and Pinealon, then a long off. Autophagy supplements named, not stocked as peptides.
