How it works

Libidon (A-16) is a Cytomax natural polypeptide extract from the prostate gland of young male calves, targeting the human prostate to restore normal cellular function and tissue architecture through epigenetic gene regulation. The prostate is uniquely vulnerable to aging: BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) affects ~50% of men by age 60 and ~90% by age 85, while prostate inflammation (prostatitis) is estimated to affect 8–16% of men at any given time. Both conditions involve a common core pathology - dysregulation of prostate epithelial cell proliferation, inflammation signaling (NF-κB, COX-2), and DHT (dihydrotestosterone) receptor sensitivity.

Libidon delivers short peptide signals from bovine prostate tissue (<10 kDa) that enter prostate cell nuclei to reactivate age-suppressed genes governing: cell cycle regulation (p53, PCNA), anti-inflammatory cytokine balance (IL-10 upregulation, IL-6 downregulation), and proper epithelial differentiation. Critically, Libidon does not manipulate DHT or testosterone - it works downstream, at the level of cellular gene expression, to restore what a healthy prostate cell would naturally produce.

In Khavinson's Russian clinical trials, courses of prostate polypeptide bioregulators showed statistically significant improvement in BPH symptom scores (IPSS), reduced PSA variability, and better urinary flow rates. The protocol typically combines Libidon (A-16) with Pielotax (A-9, kidney) - since BPH-induced urinary obstruction has direct upstream effects on renal function.

Khavinson's St. Petersburg group moved from organ extracts (Cytamins) to capsule complexes (Cytomaxes) to synthetic short peptides (Cytogens); most of the evidence comes from that one group, with little independent Western replication.

History of this molecule

CIS urology used prostate extracts (Prostatilen and relatives) for chronic prostatitis / BPH-adjacent complaints long before Reddit discovered KEDP. Libidon is the Cytomax capsule complex. Prostamax is the defined cytogen people reconstitute.

The name Libidon is marketing (libido). The tissue is prostate. If the buyer’s problem is erectile hemodynamics, they bought the wrong organ. If the problem is prostate aging, this is the aisle - still not a substitute for PSA, DRE, and actual urology.

Do not confuse prostate cytogen KEDP with thymic KE or vascular KED. One letter is a different molecule.

Caveats

Prostate Cytomax is not a US dietary-supplement monograph and not a drug. The tissue-extract model means lot-to-lot composition is a fingerprint, not a single CAS number. Some English-language bottles carry a “V2” label. Vita Peptides, for example, labels its own house line V2 (15 mg per capsule vs 10 mg in V1). No study compares V1 and V2 outcomes, and neither label is the subject of Khavinson’s 1990s papers. Animal-source capsules are inappropriate if the reader has a religious or allergy constraint on the source species. None of this replaces care for the actual organ disease. Rising PSA is a workup. A capsule is not finasteride.
