Who the trial lists, as registered

Lists people 18 and older. Conditions: Clinical Stage 0 Cutaneous Melanoma AJCC v8; Clinical Stage I Cutaneous Melanoma AJCC v8; Clinical Stage II Cutaneous Melanoma AJCC v8; Clinical Stage III Cutaneous Melanoma AJCC v8; Cutaneous Dysplastic Nevus.

  • Patient must have ≥ 3 clinically atypical nevi, assessed within 30 days prior to randomization, that are consistent with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) definition as follows.
  • Must have a diameter of ≥ 5mm in one dimension
  • Must include a macular component in at least one area
  • Must have at least two of the following features: ill-defined borders, color variegation, uneven contour, and erythema NOTE: Lesions suspicious for incipient melanoma will be removed and are not intended for the study

13 more inclusion criteria and the exclusion criteria are on the listing.

What it tests, as registered

Biopsy Procedure; Biospecimen Collection; Placebo Administration; Sulforaphane

Registered summary

This phase II trial tests how well sulforaphane works in preventing melanoma in patients with multiple atypical moles (nevi) and a prior history of melanoma. Patients with a history of melanoma and multiple atypical nevi are at a significantly increased risk of developing additional melanomas than those without atypical nevi. Prevention measures usually include sun protection, monthly skin self-examinations and regular skin examinations from a doctor. The full summary is on the listing.

Who it lists and where

Who the trial lists, as registered

Lists people 18 to 89. Conditions: Anthracycline Related Cardiotoxicity in Breast Cancer.

  • Age 18 to 89 years
  • No prior diagnosis of coronary artery, carotid artery or peripheral artery disease
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding (urine pregnancy test will be done if female of childbearing potential)
  • Breast cancer requiring treatment with DOX-containing regimen above

2 more inclusion criteria and the exclusion criteria are on the listing.

What it tests, as registered

sulforaphane; Placebo Oral Tablet

Registered summary

Cardiomyopathy is a major complication of doxorubicin (DOX) chemotherapy, and 10-21% of breast cancer patients receiving DOX experience compromised cardiac function. Recent advancements have increased cancer survivorship but it remains clinically challenging to mitigate the cardiotoxic side effects. Although there are several strategies used to reduce the occurrence and severity of DOX-induced cardiotoxicity, they are not particularly effective. Hence, there is an urgent need to develop new strategies that prevent the cardiotoxic effects of DOX but maintain its potency as a cancer therapy. The full summary is on the listing.

  • Patients with high-risk haematological malignancies: including AML, ALL, high-risk MDS
  • Age: ≥18 years
  • Karnofsky score ≥70%, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) physical status ≤2 points
  • Selection of non-haematopoietic cord blood: donor-recipient HLA high-resolution compatibility ≥4/6, 7/10 and CD34 cells ≥0.83×105/kg (recipient's body weight), meeting the above criteria, only cord blood with a freezing time of ≥10 years…

The exclusion criteria are on the listing.

What it tests, as registered

Sulforaphane

Registered summary

Umbilical cord blood (UCB) is rich in haematopoietic stem progenitor cells and immune cells, and is used for transplantation for a variety of haematological disorders with the advantages of low mating requirements and fewer transplant complications. By March 2025 China's seven (eight) public cord blood stem cell banks had frozen more than 280,000 public umbilical cord blood, while the percentage of those frozen for ≥10 years was 26%, making clinical application a concern.
