3 registrations that name tesamorelin as a study arm and are recruiting or about to, as ClinicalTrials.gov listed them on Oct 20, 2026. Read each listing for its full criteria and current status.
Kymata never assesses eligibility. Each listing names its own criteria; only its study team can say whether someone can join. Trial doses are given under the trial's monitoring and are not a schedule for anyone outside it.

Tesamorelin as an Adjunct to Exercise for Improving Physical Function in HIV
Phase 2
Massachusetts General Hospital
About 100 people
Started Jul 10, 2025
In plain words A Phase 2 study of tesamorelin in people 50 to 80, run by Massachusetts General Hospital. It plans to enroll about 100 people at 2 US sites.
Who it lists and where
Who the trial lists, as registered
Lists people 50 to 80. Conditions: HIV-1-infection; Frailty; Impaired Physical Function; Abdominal Obesity; Aging.
Men and women, 50-80 years old
Documented HIV infection on suppressive antiretroviral therapy for at least 1 year with HIV-1 RNA <200 copies/mL and CD4+ T cell count >200/µL 3
Sedentary lifestyle, defined as self-reported physical activity that breaks a sweat <3 days/week with no regular resistance exercise in the past 3 months
≥1 Fried frailty criterion (weakness, slow gait speed, exhaustion, decreased physical activity, or unintentional weight loss as defined by specific thresholds)
4 more inclusion criteria and the exclusion criteria are on the listing.
What it tests, as registered
Tesamorelin; Placebo; Exercise
Registered summary
People with HIV experience earlier impairments in physical function compared to people in the general population. They also exhibit an earlier presentation and more rapid development of frailty, a multisystemic syndrome of aging characterized by reduced activity, fatigue, slowness, weakness, and weight loss. While exercise can improve physical function in people with HIV, it is less effective in doing so than in the general population and is difficult to sustain in the long-term. Tesamorelin to Improve Functional Outcomes After Peripheral Nerve Injury
Phase 2
Johns Hopkins University
About 36 people
Started Jun 1, 2018
In plain words A Phase 2 study of tesamorelin in people 18 and older, run by Johns Hopkins University. It plans to enroll about 36 people at 1 US site.
Who it lists and where
Who the trial lists, as registered
Lists people 18 and older. Conditions: Peripheral Nerve Injuries.
Ulnar nerve laceration at the wrist, repaired primarily
The exclusion criteria are on the listing.
What it tests, as registered
Tesamorelin 2 Milligrams (MG)
Registered summary
The aim of this clinical trial is to evaluate the efficacy of tesamorelin as a therapy for peripheral nerve injuries. The investigators hypothesize that treatment with tesamorelin will result in faster and more substantial recovery of motor and sensory function following surgical repair of injured peripheral nerves. Patients with upper extremity nerve injuries will be randomly assigned to receive either tesamorelin treatment or no treatment. Assessments for nerve regeneration, muscle function, and sensation will be conducted every three months for a total of 12 months. The full summary is on the listing.

Tesamorelin for Reduction of Liver Fat in Adults With Fatty Liver Disease (Mock Study)
Phase 2
Hudson Biotech
About 120 people
Started Feb 2, 2026
In plain words A Phase 2 study of tesamorelin in people 18 to 75, run by Hudson Biotech. It plans to enroll about 120 people at 1 site, none in the US.
Its registered title calls it a “Mock Study”.
It lists one site, in China, and no US site.
Who it lists and where
Who the trial lists, as registered
Lists people 18 to 75. Conditions: Metabolic Associated Steatotic Liver Disease; Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis; Hepatic Steatosis.
Adults age 18 to 75 years, able to provide informed consent.
Evidence of hepatic steatosis consistent with MASLD/NAFLD, defined as MRI-PDFF >=10% at screening (or equivalent imaging documentation if MRI-PDFF was performed within the prior 8 weeks).
Fibrosis risk compatible with non-cirrhotic disease (e.g., FibroScan liver stiffness below a prespecified threshold and no clinical evidence of portal hypertension).
Stable body weight (+/-5%) for at least 3 months prior to screening.
3 more inclusion criteria and the exclusion criteria are on the listing.
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase II study evaluates whether daily subcutaneous tesamorelin (a growth hormone-releasing hormone analog) reduces liver fat in adults with fatty liver disease. Participants receive tesamorelin or matching placebo for 52 weeks, with standardized lifestyle counseling in both groups. Liver fat is quantified by MRI-proton density fat fraction (MRI-PDFF). Key safety monitoring includes glucose metrics and IGF-1.
