1 improved · 1 no difference
  1. Grade DCollagen synthesis marker (PINP) after exercise · Improved

    Crossover RCT · n 8 · 2017 · Healthy young men

5 or 15 g, 1 hour before 6 minutes of rope skipping, three times a day · 3 days per condition

Blood glycine, proline, hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine rose with dose, peaking at 1 hour. With 15 g, the collagen synthesis marker PINP doubled; serum taken after gelatin increased collagen content and strength of lab-engineered ligaments.

  2. Grade DCollagen synthesis marker (PINP) after exercise · No difference

    Crossover RCT · n 10 · 2019 · Recreationally active men

15 g, 1 hour before 6 minutes of rope skipping · Single dose per condition

PINP tended to rise about 20% with gelatin and hydrolyzed collagen but not with placebo or the gummy; large variability meant no treatment was statistically significant.
