TrumpRx vs LillyDirect vs NovoCare: Which Way to Buy a GLP-1
TrumpRx.gov does not undercut the drugmakers: it points you to the same self-pay prices. For Zepbound, TrumpRx sends orders to Eli Lilly’s LillyDirect, starting at $299 a month. For Wegovy, TrumpRx gives a coupon you show at a retail pharmacy, at the same prices Novo Nordisk’s NovoCare Pharmacy charges for home delivery: $199 for two starter fills, then $349 a month. So the choice is about convenience, which drug you take and whether you have insurance, not price. Checked Oct 11, 2026.
Quick answer
- Zepbound: TrumpRx says Lilly handles all Zepbound vial orders through LillyDirect. Prices are $299 (2.5 mg), $399 (5 mg) and $449 (7.5–15 mg) if you refill within 45 days; late refills cost $499 (7.5 mg) or $699 (10–15 mg).
- Wegovy: TrumpRx’s coupon and NovoCare Pharmacy charge the same: pens $199 for a new patient’s first 2 fills of 0.25 or 0.5 mg (through Dec 31, 2026), then $349, and $399 for the 7.2 mg dose; pills $149, $199 and $299 by dose.
- Foundayo is sold through LillyDirect: $149 for the 0.8 and 2.5 mg doses, $199 for 5.5 mg, then $299.
- With commercial insurance that covers the drug, NovoCare and Lilly savings cards can bring the cost to as little as $25 a month; those cards exclude Medicare and other government plans.

How each channel works
- TrumpRx.gov: a federal price site. For Wegovy it shows a coupon (BIN, PCN, group and member ID) to present at a retail pharmacy that stocks the pen. For Zepbound vials it sends you to LillyDirect. Its terms say the offer is self-pay only, for US residents 18 or older with a valid prescription, and that you must not seek reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid or any other plan or count the cost toward a deductible.
- LillyDirect: Eli Lilly’s direct-to-patient pharmacy service for Zepbound and Foundayo. Your prescriber sends the prescription to LillyDirect Pharmacy, and one of four dispensing pharmacies (Amazon Pharmacy, Fuze Health, Gifthealth or Walmart Pharmacy) fills it, with free home delivery or free pickup at Walmart. Zepbound vials are sold only here.
- NovoCare Pharmacy: Novo Nordisk’s pharmacy for Wegovy and Ozempic, pens and pills. It offers free home delivery (dispensed by CoAssist Pharmacy) or a savings offer to use at a pickup pharmacy, and links to telehealth prescribers if you need one.
The 45-day refill rule
Lilly’s lower prices on the higher doses depend on refilling on time. Zepbound 7.5–15 mg is $449 a month only when each refill is within 45 days; otherwise LillyDirect charges $499 for 7.5 mg and $699 for 10, 12.5 and 15 mg. Foundayo 14.5 and 17.2 mg follow the same rule at $299. Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy and Ozempic self-pay prices have no refill window on their pages; the $199 starter price is the one with a limit (new patients, first 2 fills, through Dec 31, 2026).
Which one to use
- You take Zepbound or Foundayo: LillyDirect (TrumpRx sends you there for Zepbound anyway). Choose Walmart pickup if you do not want a shipment.
- You take Wegovy or Ozempic and want delivery: NovoCare Pharmacy.
- You take Wegovy and want your usual pharmacy: the TrumpRx coupon or the NovoCare savings offer at the counter; GoodRx shows the same price.
- You are on Medicare Part D: check the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge first ($50 a month for eligible enrollees, July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027).
- You have commercial insurance: ask whether your plan covers the drug; the manufacturer savings cards can bring it to as little as $25 a month.
