2 registrations that name beta-alanine as a study arm and are recruiting or about to, as ClinicalTrials.gov listed them on Oct 20, 2026. Read each listing for its full criteria and current status.
Kymata never assesses eligibility. Each listing names its own criteria; only its study team can say whether someone can join. Trial doses are given under the trial's monitoring and are not a schedule for anyone outside it.

Neurovascular Transduction During Exercise in Chronic Kidney Disease
Phase 2
Emory University
About 150 people
Started Oct 2016
In plain words A Phase 2 study of beta-alanine in people 18 to 75, run by Emory University. It plans to enroll about 150 people at 3 US sites.

Who the trial lists, as registered
Lists people 18 to 75. Conditions: Renal Insufficiency, Chronic.
Stage III or IV Chronic Kidney Disease, defined as reduction in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) to 15-59 cc/minute as calculated by the modified Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) Study equation or the Chronic Kidney…
Stable renal function, with no greater than a 30% reduction in eGFR over the prior 3 months
Does not exercise regularly (defined as exercising less than 20 minutes twice per week)

What it tests, as registered
6R-BH4; 6R-BH4 placebo; Folic acid; Exercise training; Stretching; Histidine and beta-alanine supplementation; Histidine and beta-alanine placebo
Registered summary
The purpose of this study is to find out why patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have poor exercise capacity and to explore what causes an increase in blood pressure during exercise (i.e. increased adrenaline levels, or decreased ability of blood vessels to dilate). This study will also test whether or not regular exercise on a bicycle and/or treatment with 6R-BH4 (Kuvan) pills, or histidine and beta-alanine supplementation improves these measures during exercise. Neoadjuvant Radiation in Locally Advanced Breast Cancer
Phase 2
Fudan University
About 70 people
Started Mar 1, 2021
In plain words A Phase 2 study of beta-alanine in female participants 18 to 70, run by Fudan University. It plans to enroll about 70 people at 1 site, none in the US.
Who it lists and where
Who the trial lists, as registered
Lists female participants 18 to 70. Conditions: Breast Neoplasms.
Histologically or cytologically confirmed locally advanced breast carcinoma
Inoperable with with 4-6 courses of prior chemotherapy
No contradiction of radiation or chemo-radiotherapy
Patients should have the ability to understand and the willingness to sign a written informed consent document
1 more inclusion criterion and the exclusion criteria are on the listing.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of neoadjuvant radiation therapy in improving local-regional control and facilitating surgical conversion in patients with inoperable locally advanced breast cancer after 2-6 courses of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. This study will also investigate whether beta-alanine supplementation and spatially fractionated radiotherapy can enhance the therapeutic response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy. The full summary is on the listing.
