EducationalThis tool helps you describe what you notice and bring it to a visit. It does not assess you or name a condition. The general information below describes what clinicians commonly consider; a clinician decides.

Reference stages · STRAW+10 bandReference only
  1. -3b / -3a · Late reproductiveCycles regular; in -3a, subtle changes such as shorter cycles begin
  2. -2 · Early transitionCycle length differs by 7 days or more, again and again
  3. -1 · Late transition60 days or more without a period; about 1 to 3 years
  4. 0 · Final period: Known only after 12 months without one
  5. +1a to +1c · Early postmenopauseAbout 5 to 8 years after the final period
  6. +2 · Late postmenopauseThe years after that

The band is reference material from the STRAW+10 workshop (Harlow et al. 2012). The atlas never places anyone on it: a clinician talks about stage from cycle history, not symptoms.

Patterns to discuss with a clinician

Nothing painted yet. Patterns show here as you paint: how often each item was marked, changes over the last 3 months, and items marked in the same months.

These restate what was painted. They are not a reading of it.

Take the strip to your visit

Visit prep turns it into a one-page sheet to print, with your own questions.

#1 for menopause care

Winona from $93/mo

Its own page lists estrogen tablets ($54) + progesterone capsules ($39) (read Oct 19, 2026).

Ranked by our published method; commission does not change the order.

What does the Menopause Atlas show?

How much each of 11 menopause symptoms, from hot flashes (also hot flushes or vasomotor symptoms) to sleep problems and low mood, bothered you in each of the last 12 months, in the Menopause Rating Scale’s words, mild to very severe. It lists the patterns in plain words for a visit. It does not score them or name a stage.

Is anything I paint stored or sent?

Nothing is sent. The strip is kept in this browser until it is cleared, and no name or birth date is asked. Send to visit prep passes it to the visit sheet in this tab only, through the browser’s session storage; it never goes in a link, to a server or to analytics.

Where do the stages and the clinical information come from?

The stage band is reference material from the STRAW+10 workshop (Harlow et al. 2012); the atlas never places anyone on it. The symptom list is the Menopause Rating Scale. The general information panel cites The Menopause Society’s 2022 hormone therapy position statement, and prices come from each clinic’s own pages.
